Authorities say they are implementing an array of strategies to stimulate development and improve livelihoods for communities living near wildlife areas.
In an interview with Zimpapers Radio News Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority, park planning officer Courage Mutema said capacitation of communities on alternative sources of livelihoods is key in protecting wildlife from poaching.
This follows conservation initiatives by government that involves participation of communities with an aim to reduce human wildlife conflict and promote sustainable resource use.
