Zimbabwe marks World AIDS Day

Zimbabwe has been hailed for making significant progress in educating communities on HIV and AIDS with calls for stakeholders to reinforce the gains through support services in segmented areas of concern.


The call was made by National Aids Council chief executive officer Benard Madzima during a discussion on HIV and AIDS hosted by Zimpapers Television Network on Tuesday ahead of today's commemorations of World AIDS Day.


Speaking on the same platform HIV advocacy group Transmat Trust director Gumisayi Bonzo raised concern over the lack of support for HIV patients with mental health challenges.


Meanwhile, hundreds of people have converged in Chinhoyi, Mashonaland West province for the World AIDS Day commemorations running under the theme, "End Inequalities, End AIDS end pandemics.
