There was pandemonium at a building housing the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) offices in the Harare central business district after some of the offices caught fire this morning.
When Zimpapers radio news arrived at the scene, there was a temporary evacuation of the building with employees seen milling outside.
Some employees who spoke to our reporter but however preferred anonymity said the fire started on the seventh floor and swift reaction by the guards stopped it from spreading to the rest of the building.
The exact cause of the fire is not yet known.
They added that they were in shock and still afraid to go back to the offices until the cause of the fire is established.
The amount of property damage is not yet known.
When contacted for comment, the Zimra spokesperson expressed ignorance over the matter citing out of town travel.
