President Emmerson Mnangagwa has sent a condolence message to the Chikowore family following the death of Sekuru Herbert Chikowore, father to deputy Presidential spokesperson Regis Chikowore. 

Sekuru Chikowore aged 94, died on Saturday at Arundel Hospital in Harare and was conferred with a state-assisted funeral. 

Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda made the announcement yesterday. 

In a statement, Dr Sibanda applauded Sekuru Chikowore's contribution in the liberation struggle and his role in the countries politics, contained in literary work he wrote together with his siblings and former cabinet minister Enos Chikowore, along with his farming skills which imparted to thousands of his compatriots until retirement in 1984.
