Primary and Secondary Education Minister Dr Evelyn Ndlovu is today expected to give an update regarding this year’s form one classes.
New form ones are likely to start school later than other classes with the Zimbabwe School Examination Council confirming that 2021 Grade 7 results are ready, with finalisation of a few administrative processes left.
Meanwhile, Education authorities say the majority of senior schools staff is now in learning institutions spearheading preparations for opening the facilities on Monday, following a month's delay as a precautionary measure after the country witnessed a surge in Covid-19 cases.
In an interview with Star FM News, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Communications and Advocacy Director Taungana Ndoro, however, said there are still some areas that need to be fine tuned and they are working with various stakeholders to ensure learner safety and smooth conducting of lessons.
The first term schools calendar will run for 45 days compared to the traditional average 58, with learners expected to close on the 7th of April.
