President Mnangagwa says the decision to accord late Roman Catholic Cleric, Father Emmanuel Ribeiro national hero status was unanimous due to his dedication to duty and immense contribution to the country both during and after the liberation struggle. 

President Mnangagwa said this while addressing mourners at the late cleric’s funeral service held at St Mary’s Queen of Peace Parish in Highfield on Saturday.

Father Ribeiro, a renowned composer, novelist and nationalist, died on Thursday at St Anne’s Hospital in Harare and will be buried tomorrow at the National Heroes Acre
