President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reiterated that Government will not be held to ransom by some elements among teachers adding that those who do not take up duty will not be paid.

He made the remarks while addressing young people at the National Youth Day commemorations held at Robert Gabriel Mugabe in Harare yesterday.

The Public Service Commission last week gave up to today, as a deadline for teachers who have not been conducting classes, to resume duty. The action by the teachers was despite government having awarded them at least $USD 175 in hard currency as a cushion against high cost of living.
