12 Zimbabwe National Road Administration (Zinara) employees have been arrested for fraud involving nearly $10 million dollars collected at Shurugwi tollgate in Midlands province.

According to the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) the arrest comes after two senior employees - Lilian Svinurai and Peter Pikita were nabbed last week for prejudicing Zinara about $7million at the same tollgate

It is alleged that the latest suspects created fake tap cards which they used to swipe for motorists passing through the tollgate.

According to ZACC the 14 were arrested after a tip off.

In 2021, seven Zinara officers working at the Shurugwi tollgate were arrested on fraud charges.
