The Central Vehicle Registry is in the process of moving from the old metal drivers' license disc to a new plastic disc with the process being expected to be complete by end of June 2022.

Posting on twitter today, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development said the old metal disc technology and equipment is now obsolete.

It added that, the proposed new disc is compliant with the COMESA, EAC and SADC Tripartite region and has therefore urged citizens to bear with the Authority as it transitions from the old to the new SADC compliant driver’s license disc.
