Visiting Botswana Prisons Service Commissioner Dinah Marathe says her institution is ready to partner the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS), to accelerate farming projects being run by the organisations, and boost food security for inmates, as well as generate funding to improve infrastructure in the holding facilities.
She was speaking after a tour of Khami farm prison in Bulawayo on Sunday , accompanied by ZPCS Commissioner General Moses Chihobvu to appreciate some of the projects run by the country’s correctional facilities.
Commissioner Marathe who is leading an eight member delegation from Botswana is today familiarising with operations at Hwahwa Prison in Midlands province.
The visit comes at a time Zimbabwe's Correctional Facilities are undergoing various transformative processes to prepare inmates for integration into society including allowing special visits to their families whilst still serving.
