Vice President and Health and Child Care Minister, Dr Constantino Chiwenga says Government has injected funds into Premier Service Medical Aid Society (PSMAS) and Premier Service Medical Investments (PSMI), with the aim of restoring confidence in the two institutions in providing health cover to its members.

Addressing the media in Harare this Tuesday, Dr Chiwenga said a forensic audit has also been launched to ascertain if PSMAS is carrying out its core mandate, of providing health insurance to its clients, who are mostly Government workers.

This follows the institution's failure to remit funds to health service providers , a development that has seen PSMAS card holders being denied health care services or requested to pay huge shortfalls.
