Health authorities say they are set to roll out a polio vaccination blitz following a resurgence of the disease in Zimbabwe and an outbreak in neighbouring countries.
In an interview with Star FM News, Ministry of Health and Child Care Manicaland Health Promotions Officer, Agnes Mugumbate said an awareness campaign has since been launched in the province.
World Health Organisation regional director for Africa,Dr Matshidiso Moeti said efforts are underway to help strengthen polio surveillance in Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe with plans to reach 23 million children aged five and below with the polio vaccine.
