Zimbabwe is bidding to house the African Medicines Agency offices, which will spearhead research and access to drugs by patients through out the continent.
This was said by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Ambassador Frederick Shava, who is attending the Southern African Development Community (SADC) council of ministers meeting in Lilongwe, Malawi.
Minister Shava also said Zimbabwe is supporting the notion of transforming the SADC parliamentary forum into a regional Parliament.
He said the Council of Ministers also discussed covid-19 responses by member states, the selection of a new SADC Executive Secretary as well as the handover and takeover of the SADC chair by Malawi from Mozambique during a summit scheduled for this week.
