Government says all is in place for schools opening today, adding that Covid -19 protocols will continue to be observed in learning institutions.

In an interview with Star FM News, Director of Information and Advocacy in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Taungana Ndoro said despite low Covid-19 infections that were recorded in schools during the previous term, Government will strengthen the measures to reduce the spread of the virus.

Government announced that mask wearing in schools will remain mandatory, after it scrapped the requirement on people who have received a third vaccination.

The school term which begins today is expected to end in December.

Meanwhile, the Albino Charity Organisation of Zimbabwe (ALCOZ) has implored school authorities to engage with the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council, for the provision of examination papers with a large font to enable children with albinism to easily read questions.

The call was made by ALCOZ founder and director , Loveness Mainato during STAR FM's Disability Factor show recently.

Children with albinism have visual impairments which hinder them from reading small print.
