President Emmerson Mnangawa says he is impressed with this year's winter wheat production, which will see the country meet a targeted historic output of about 380 000 tonnes.

Writing in his weekly column in the Sunday Mail and Sunday News, President Mnangagwa said Government will also make sure the country has enough water bodies to under-pin agriculture in all provinces.

Meanwhile, the President directed Government to include inputs for wheat under the Presidential Scheme to cover and support in ecological regions 1 and 2, where wheat production under micro-irrigation projects are possible.

The areas include Chimanimani,Chipinge and Nyanga where farmers have been producing wheat without direct assistance from Government.
