Zimbabwe mourns legendary actress Mai Sorobhi

Zimbabweans are mourning the death of seasoned actress Rhoda Mthembe popularly known on the small screen as Mai Sorobhi who passed away yesterday, after battling a stroke.

Taking to social media Mai Sorobhi's fans expressed sadness over her death, saying her comical antics will be missed.

Rumbidzai Kaseke said:

"She left us with beautiful childhood memories, a pleasure to watch. My sincere condolences to her family and to those who adored her. May her dear soul rest in peace.

Mai Kimkyle Mancube wrote :

"Our Queen of comedy has rested, she will be sadly missed. My condolences to the family".

Lionel Chanakira remembered when he first met the actress.

"My heartfelt condolences to the family and all Zimbabwe comedy fans. I shook hands with the comedienne some time back in Highfield. She was a friend to my auntie Angela and had a chance to share jokes with her. Gone too soon. Rest in peace. Heaven needs comediennes like you".

According to Mai Sorobhi's grandchild and comedian Admire Kuzhangaira popularly known as Bhutisi the legendary actress succumbed to stroke.

In 2019, the actress suffered a stroke which partially paralysed her left side.
