President Emmerson Mnangagwa has directed all state universities, to find alternative ways to lessen the financial burden on students, who are incapacitated to pay their tuition fees.

Writing in his weekly column, in the Sunday Mail and Sunday News yesterday, the president said there are many mechanisms which can be invoked and pursued to ensure students from disadvantaged backgrounds are assisted.

Meanwhile, President said the current consultations between university authorities and students representatives must continue ,with Government also looking into ways of lightening the burden of tertiary education, as the economy continues on a positive trajectory.

This comes as last week, students at the University of Zimbabwe raised concern over an increase in tuition fees.
