Government has with immediate effect ordered a review of various tenders with a view to flush out contracts awarded with inflated prices for supply of public goods and services.
Addressing a media briefing in Harare today, Finance and Economic Development Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube said Government is forced to reign in on the malpractice adding that contractors with unrealistic prices face punitive action.
This comes after treasury noted an anomaly in a tender by two companies, that sought to supply Parliament with computers at inflated prices.
Clerk of Parliament Kennedy Chokuda has since issued a statement announcing that the tender had been cancelled.
