Jamaican music superstar Christopher Martin who arrived in the country yesterday for Freeman's album launch slated for tomorrow, is set to interact with his Zimbabwe fans today before his main act at the Alexandra Sports Club in Harare.

The Paper Loving hit maker who is making a return to Zimbabwe, is featured on Freeman’s latest album David and Goliath on the song titled Zimbabwean Queen.

In an interview Michelle Mukaro who is executive producer of the album launch said:

“Today Chris Martin has a few radio interviews lined-up and later in the afternoon he will have rehearsals with HKD Band, in preparations for tomorrow.” 

Mukaro added that the feedback has been amazing as seen by the overwhelming response in ticket sales.

“We have even sold out our first phase of advanced tickets which we only started issuing on Wednesday. The preparations are going great, we have completed seventy percent of the set and we expect to finish everything by mid-morning tomorrow,” she said.

Although the launch coincides with other ongoing music events, Mukaro said they expect the album launch to be successful as it will infuse the Zimbabwean and Jamaican flavors that fans have been yearning for.

“While we are at the launch many other events will be happening around the city, weddings, parties, festivals, album launches etc. but everyone will have their fair share. Tomorrow we have prepared an array of performers to entertain the fans as we have a good mix of various artists who bring in very different vibes. 

“Freeman the man of the moment, along with his HKD Band have been working tirelessly for over a month preparing for his electrifying launch of the album and to add a cherry onto the pudding, Christopher Martin will also be gracing the stage at the launch. So people should come to our event because we have crazy vibes planned, international quality production, let’s come celebrate one of our own on the release of his album. This is an event not to miss, it’s going to be a big night not only for Freeman HKD, but Zimbabwe as an entirety,” she added.

David and Goliath features some local artistes including Nyasha David, Poptain and is produced by an array of producers namely Oskid, Rodney Beatz, Cymplex Musix, Shamex and others. 

Some of the tracks on the latest offering are title track David & Goliath, Komborera, Ndibvunzewo, Mukuru, Mjolo, Distance, Chitsike, Vakomana VeDrip, Maruva, Nizabwela, Wakadyiswa and Yeah Yeah.

Emegy Chizanga as Freeman is also known as, is arguably one of the consistent artistes in the country and has in the past released award winning albums including Mangoma Ihobho, Freeman & Friends, Robbery, New Chapta, among others.
