The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) in partnership with Jacaranda Culture and Media Corporation (JCMC) is set to host the third edition of the annual National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) Golf Day at Royal Harare Gold Club tomorrow.
The tournament which sets the tone for the NAMA ceremony, attracts artistes, corporates and administrators in the creative sector and offers a platform where the stakeholders interact and network on the golf course.
In a statement JCMC said this year's event all practicing artists are invited to play for free.
"The Golf Day allows artists to pitch their ideas as well as source business opportunities. This year’s event is unique in that all practicing artists are invited to play for free as NAMA will cover their green fees.
"Some of the artists who will feature at the event include, Samantha Musa (MisRed),
Andile Musambasi (1st edition NAMA Golf day winner), Russel Chiradza, Larry Kwirirayi, Chenesai Mangoma, Isaac Wiscot, Chiedza Kurwakumire, Shamiso Quang, Barry Manandi,
Mike Madoda among others,".
The event will also feature some professional golfers including Sam Taylor, Nevy Milazi, Yolanda Mubaiwa, Lazarus Clever, Albert Chinamano and Blessed
Chimgha.
Similarly, the event will provide more opportunities for various sponsors to gain greater brand visibility and exposure as supporters of Zimbabwean arts.
The Golf day serves as a precursor to the 21st NAMA to be held on the 25th of February next year. The event will also feature surprise performances from some of Zimbabwe’s biggest recording artists.
