China says it is highly honoured that the new Parliament Building in Mount Hampden now stands as an important landmark in Zimbabwe’s legislative system, having hosted President Emmerson Mnangagwa as he delivered the State of the Nation Address (SONA) yesterday.

Posting on his official social media platforms, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Guo Shaochun described as a success the holding of SONA concurrently with an opening of the last session of the Ninth Parliament.

Ambassador Guo also thanked teams from both Zimbabwe and China for efforts in making the 98 million US dollar project a success.

In his address, President Mnangagwa also thanked the Chinese government for massive infrastructure projects they are bankrolling in Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile Finance and Economic Development Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube is this afternoon expected to deliver a 2023 National Budget statement at the same venue.
