Horticultural crop producers have called on authorities to speed up rehabilitation of gravel roads linking farming areas and markets this rainy season to ensure easy trade of wares, as well as attracting buyers direct to the fields.
In an interview with Zimpapers Radio News on the side-lines of a multi-stakeholder convening on African Mass Food Markets in Harare this week, Knowledge Transfer Africa Private Limited chief executive officer Charles Dhewa said a good road network is paramount in ensuring the growth of the horticultural sector.
The country has managed to transform the horticultural sector through securing lucrative markets regionally and internationally.
